Our Snow Day

This happened a while ago, but I still love the pictures and never shared them with you all.

Over Christmas Break, my dear friends Stephanie and Alex had the opportunity to visit me in my home.  Hanging out with them outside of Aggieland was a strange feeling, but it was wonderful to see my friends after we had spent a couple of weeks apart.
While Alex was visiting his dad, Stephanie and I decided to go adventuring.

See, I live out in the country.  There is a vast world of canyons and blue sky near my house.  It had recently snowed, something we don't experience in Aggieland whatsoever, so we bundled up in coats, scarves, and gloves, and decided to go see what we could find.

I'm not much of a snow person and neither is Stephanie, but we soon became captivated with the white, puffy snow and the icicles and the cold air that filled our lungs.

And we took pictures.  Lots and lots of pictures.

The air was warm enough that we weren't miserable out in the snow, but it was still cold enough that the snow was not yet slush.  The craggy trees were a perfect place to pose for pictures.

A huge log rested on one side of a hill... I've taken pictures near that log in the past and it was even lovelier amongst the snow.  Stephanie actually tried to fit inside the thing.  Her attempt didn't quite work.

Check out this video of Stephanie trying to fit into the log.

Posing for pictures is so much fun.

We soon discovered that it was possible to scoop up handfulls of snow and blow it into the air.  The snow would scatter all around us, landing in our hair and on our eyelashes, just as if the snow was really falling from the sky.

And after we retreated from the cold winter afternoon to my warm kitchen, Alex arrived again and we all banded together to make no-bake cookies at about one in the morning.  My little brother and sister helped as well.

Overall, the weekend was a success.

And while our day in the snow was a lot of fun, I don't plan to go back out into the snow for a long while.  Although you know, it's been in the high seventies every day here for a while.  I'm starting to think spring has officially arrived in Aggieland.
