Day 1: The story of your life in 250 words or less.
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was afraid of many things. All of her fears and doubts made her feel very uncertain and hopeless. She would hear about the stories of other hurting people in the world and wonder why she was alive, why she had ever been made at all. The little girl thought that she was all alone. She did not yet know that there was a Father who had sacrificed everything for her, a Father who loved her very, very much.
One day, in an act of desperation, the little girl decided that she did not want to be alive on the earth anymore, so she made a bad mistake that left her ashamed and even more afraid. Instead of rejecting her, the Father lifted her into strong arms and pressed her against His cheek. "I love you and I want to redeem you, Emily," He told her gently, "but instead of throwing away your life, I want you to give it to Me."
The little girl was amazed by the love shown for her by the Father. Even though the dark part of her heart told her to be fearful and run away, she longed to sit in her Father's lap and trust Him, just like He asked. She felt brand new and redeemed.
"Take my life, Daddy," she finally whispered, placing her small hands into the Father's very big ones. "I want to trust you."
"You are loved," was what He said in reply, a smile in His eyes, and they walked together, hand-in-hand.
