The first Sunday of the month, I advocate for an orphan with special
needs who is waiting for a family. Please consider supporting this
child by committing to pray for them, sharing their story, or donating
to their adoption fund through Reece's Rainbow.
George and Martha have been neglected all of their lives. They were raised in an extremely neglectful home environment before they were removed and brought to an orphanage a little less than 2 years ago.
George is four years old. He is delayed psychologically, as well as having hemangioma, a previous heart defect, and a chest deformation. He needs therapy to learn to walk better, but he can walk a little. He has some speech delays.
This growing boy is capable of following simple instructions. He was in his home environment for less time than his sister, so he has fewer delays. This little boy has so much potential to thrive in a loving and patient home, with a family who will understand what he has been through and accept him where he is now.
Martha is ten years old and severely delayed, largely due to the severe neglect in her past. She does not know her name, colors, and can hardly speak. While she can feed herself to an extent, she needs some help. The example given is that she would eat a banana with its skin and candy with its wrapper. Martha has not been potty trained. She does not play with toys.
These children have endured so much abuse and hurt in their young lives. They so desperately need to be taken out of an institutional environment and placed into loving care.
Imagine how much more these children would thrive if they were shown gentle affection and a loyal family life for the first time. Even if you are unable to adopt, pray for George and Martha and consider donating to their adoption fund.
