"I love you" across cultures and languages and backgrounds.
Were you named after anyone?
I've been told that my name was borrowed from Emily Dickinson (which I would love, if that were true). However, I'm pretty sure my parents chose a name that they both liked and I was quite intentionally not named after anyone they knew personally.
When was the last time you cried?
There are few tears in me. I don't cry often, and when I do, I tend to make sure I'm alone. I think the last time I cried was in October, when homesickness and loneliness stood taller than me.
Around this time, I stumbled upon Psalm 56:8 in my quiet time, which says, "Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll— are they not in your record?" Even though I am so very private and quiet about my emotions and personal feelings, there is something so precious in that my Heavenly Father keeps track of my tears. With Him, I am not alone.
When was the last time you laughed?
In my household of college girls, there is always laughter. Always. Not too long ago, I was reading in our broken armchair (the bottom has come loose and yet I still manage to find comfortable sitting positions without falling through), while Kelsey was blogging and Kendall was sketching a few feet away.
Kendall sat up suddenly and declared, "Kelsey, I'm going to bite your toe," and much to my surprise, she crawled across the room and bit our roommate hard on her big toe. I'm not sure what exactly came upon her to do this, but Kelsey started shouting about the pain, and I managed to snap a picture of the action.

I do like my handwriting! It is both neat and recognizable.
