Modest Trend: Ruffles

I can't even believe that I'm writing this, but right now, ruffles are apparently in style.  I am not a frilly, ruffles kind of girl, but I know a lot of girls who can pull this off, so I'm going to go ahead and blog about this.

Ruffles are modest because the frilly fabric covers up more skin, which is always a good thing.

In order to work this style, you need to limit the ruffles either at the hem of a dress or skirt, or at the throat of your blouse or dress.  Wearing ruffles everywhere just isn't going to work.  The ruffles should be more subtle and flattering, rather than overly girlie.  Be careful not to over-ruffle what you wear.

Take a look at some ways where you can wear ruffles modestly and fashionably.

Modest Trend: Wide Leg Pants

This post makes me excited.  I've been so ready for the skinny-leg jeans trend to be over and done with, and hopefully, this is just the start.  While there are some exceptions, many skinny jeans are too tight and show off your legs and behind in unflattering ways.  Wide leg or relaxed fit pants will flatter your appearance and yet keep you modest and stylish at the same time.

In order to achieve the right look, wide legged pants should either cut off at the ankle or the knee.  However, there are also cute styles of wide legged pants that flare out to the top of the foot.  Take a look for yourself.

Here are some examples of modest, wide leg pants:
