Modest Trends: Jeans

Jeans are the base to most outfits I wear.  During the winter, probably 95% of the time I'm out in public, I'm wearing a pair of jeans.  So I thought I'd go ahead and begin today's modest trend with jeans.  You can wear modest jeans and still be in style.  Here are a few options.

Harem-Style Jeans
Harem Jeans.jpgDespite the connotations behind the name, harem style jeans are very modest.  They're basically wide-leg jeans, similar to flare-leg jeans, but they're wide everywhere.  And they're in style.  And cute, if I do say so myself.  Check out the picture to your right of Gwen Stefani wearing a pair of harem jeans.  Styles don't only range in jeans... also coming in cargo, khaki, and various colors.  You can also wear them tapering at the ankle, which gives a more feminine look, in my opinion, but doesn't make them less modest.  Buy this pair of wide-leg, harem-style jeans for only $19.99!

High Waist Jeans
High Waist Jeans 1.jpgI never thought I'd see the day, but high rise jeans are actually in style!  Some might even say, the higher the better.  I'm personally not a huge fan of the style, but several of my friends are, so I'm going to promote the look.  I think it can be cute if you're careful to wear it stylishly.  If you are larger in the booty area, it's probably not a good idea to wear high rise jeans, because they'll make your rear end look bigger, but they can make your waist look thinner.  Be sure to tuck in your shirt.  What I like about high rise jeans is that they aren't low rise, meaning that people aren't going to see your underwear, stomach, or crack when you bend down.  What a relief that is!  Here is an example of a pair of high waist jeans that you can purchase online.  They're $39.99.

Boyfriend-Style Jeans
Boyfriend Jeans 1.jpgIn case you haven't heard of this term before, boyfriend jeans are basically jeans that are rolled up on the ends.  Originally, I suppose they're meant to look like they're a girl's boyfriend's jeans.  Check out Jessica Alba wearing a pair of boyfriend-style jeans.  The good thing about these is the fact that they're supposed to be loose and not clingy to your legs, thighs, and rear ends.  Just be careful not to choose a pair of boyfriend-style jeans that take away your natural feminine figure completely.  You want to look figure-flattering.  I adore this pair of Lucky boyfriend-style jeans.  Too bad they're a little pricy at $119.

Modest Trends

I will again be giving a series about modest trends.  Sorry, boys, but this series is for the girls.  It's finally getting cold outside and we're beginning to shop for our winter wardrobes and for Christmas gifts for friends and families.  If you're looking for clothes and wardrobe style choices, it could be tempting to purchase something that's immodest.  How can you look trendy and modest at the same time?  That's what I'll be helping you achieve this next month.

On Sundays, I'll be posting a modest trend.  On Wednesdays, I'll post an immodest trend... and a hopeful replacement you can wear instead.  On Fridays, I'll post a fun trend that doesn't have much to do with modesty at all, such as makeup, hair styles, and accessories.

For all of you who aren't into styles and trends for this year, don't worry.  I'll be sure to post my usual articles throughout the month as well.

Have a great day.
