I don't know if everyone will be able to handle it. I certainly couldn't. After discovering the truth of this situation, I couldn't help but break down. In fact, everyone around me did as well. It's just... so, so sad.

Yes, even my twelve-year-old brother is taller than me now.

It was a hard thing to accept, but Luke is growing quickly. And he didn't have much height to beat, anyways.
I mean, I don't know if I've shared this with you all, but I have a mini photo series on Facebook called "I'm too short to reach the mirror at a public place." So far, there are three parts.
PART I: I'm too short to reach the mirror in the jewelry department at JC Penney.
PART II: I'm too short to reach the mirror in the bathroom at On the Border.
PART III: I'm too short to reach the mirror in the bathroom at a local steakhouse when I went out of town for a vacation.
Yes, I'm short. And yes, I was joking with you above. I'm not actually devastated that Luke beat me in height this year. Although he is very young to already be taller than me, I'm glad that he's tall. I would much rather have a brother who is taller than me than one who is shorter than me.

Awww. So sad. I'm 5'1" and my 12 year old sister passed me a few weeks ago.

ReplyDeleteEmily, you had me going! I was so worried about you! The very next day after I found this beautiful shining candle, some terrible thing had happened to her! It's amazing how many tragedies I dreamed up in just the few seconds it took to scroll down and see what it was about!
ReplyDeleteI'm about 6' 1/4" in the morning, and down to 5' 11 1/2" by evening.
Hahaha aww that is pretty sad :) I've got a least a year before my 13 year old brother outgrows me though becuase I'm 5'9 :D Haha it'll be pretty gutting though because I have ALWAYS been the tallest child :'(

ReplyDeleteI'm almost 5'8" and my 12-year-old brother is taller than me at like 5'10" or something. My 13-year-old brother (who passed me up when he was like 11 or something) is super close to 6 feet now. I was always tall for my age, but then in 8th grade the boys I knew finally started growing and I wasn't bigger and stronger than them anymore, haha. Now I look at family pictures and I stand between my ginormously large 12- and 13-year-old brothers and I finally look short. I guess I always wanted to be short anyways, haha...

I'm only 4'10.5", and my seven year old nephew is taller than me now. That mirror stuff drives me nuts! If I want to try on a pair of sunglasses I have to travel half-around a story to find a full length mirror!

ReplyDeleteI'm 5'11 and I too was devastated when my younger brother beat me in height 4 years ago, now he's 6'5. Yes, I have a tall family, my brother is one inch taller than my dad.
